Who are we?

Who are we?

Hubert Julien-Laferrière, PFVT PresidentThe French Partnership for the City and Territories (PFVT) is the platform for the exchange and enhancement of the expertise of French international urban development actors.

It is a multi-actor partnership launched in June 2011 and chaired by rhône MP Hubert Julien-Laferrière, with the support of the Ministries of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Territory Cohesion, Ecological Transition, and Culture.

Today, it brings together more than two hundred organizations representing the diversity of French urban expertise:

  • State and public institutions
  • Local authorities and elected associations
  • Federations and urban development professionals
  • Private sector
  • Civil society organizations
  • Universities and research and training organizations.

Like a think tank, the PFVT mobilizes its partners in workshops to develop joint proposals for world urban forums and international urban events.

The PFVT coordinates the participation of French actors in the international debate and values French know-how in sustainable urban development, in response to the demands of partner cities and states in developing and emerging countries.

The technical secretariat of the PFVT is provided by the National Federation of Urban Agencies (FNAU).
